Most electric bikes feel like motorcycles that lost a bet. The motor overwhelms the rider's input, the weight numbs the handling, and the experience of actually cycling — that kinesthetic conversation between human and machine — gets lost somewhere between the battery pack and the throttle.
We wanted to build something different. An e-bike that makes you feel stronger rather than replaced.
The integrated 750Wh battery delivers class-leading range
We chose range over weight savings because range anxiety is the biggest barrier to e-bike adoption. With the Volt E1, that anxiety disappears.
Working with Bosch, we spent eight months tuning the Performance Line CX motor's assist curves. The default Bosch profiles prioritise range. We prioritised feel. Our custom tune adds assistance proportionally to the rider's effort rather than their speed — the harder you push, the more the motor responds.
The result is a bike that rewards technique. Sprint out of a corner correctly and the assist amplifies that energy. Spin a low gear up a long climb and the motor smooths your cadence. It learns your rhythm.
The Volt E1 redefines what an e-bike can be. Custom-tuned motor response, 750Wh range, and handling that rewards technique. This is electric cycling done right.
Our 750Wh battery is the largest integrated unit in our category. Competitors chose smaller packs for weight savings. We chose range, because range anxiety — the voice in your head calculating whether you'll make it home — is the biggest impediment to trusting an e-bike as a genuine transport option.
